Suzanne Settle

My name is Suzanne Settle and I’m originally from Maryland.

I moved to Burns in 2010 and it’s the first time I felt like I was home. I live out near Crane and love that my biggest traffic jam is cows on the highway.

I’ve been in Emergency Management in one form or another for about 30 years and I like working with the communities for emergency preparedness and awareness. I’m a member of Harney County Search & Rescue, help out in 911 Centers as I’m a certified 911 Dispatcher and for the American Red Cross in Shelter Operations.

When I’m not working, I love being at home with my boyfriend and our land of misfit toys which includes 4 dogs, 4 cats and 11 chickens (I had to sell my cows because of hay prices). I’m new to the property I bought, just over a year there, so we’re working on fixing up things that need fixin’ and building a sustainable homestead.

I’m excited to be here working with the Burns Paiute Tribe and making sure the land and the community are safe and prepared for any emergency.
