POSITION SUMMARY

We are hiring for a Caretaker for property and animals. This property and program are for our mental health and alcohol and drug programs. The property will have offices for staff as well as programming for clients who are in the mental health and alcohol and drug program. It is important that the person be supportive to people in recovery or in recovery themselves.  It is also important that they be comfortable around animals and working outside.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance projects as assigned from Facilities Director
  • Help to take care of animals, feeding and watering and cleaning stalls.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment, tools, and shop.
  • Familiar with safe and efficient use of a variety of hand power tools.
  • Maintain lawn equipment; Riding mowers, Weed eaters, Power and hand tools, miscellaneous supplies, fuel mixtures
  • Other maintenance jobs or duties as assigned by management.
  • Ability to read and understand the safety and storage instructions of cleaning equipment, supplies and chemicals
  • Replace light bulbs throughout the property
  • Clean gutters
  • Trim bushes
  • Shovel snow
  • Hand-water lawn flowers and shrubs
  • Perform light custodial operations on grounds and buildings, sweeping paths, trash collection.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions including, but not limited to, sitting and extended periods of standing, walking, stooping/bending, squatting or kneeling. Ability to push, pull and lift 50 pounds. Ability to safely climb stairs, steps or ladders.
  • Time management skills that will allow you to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Current Valid drivers license
  • Supportive of people in recovery or to be in recovery.
  • Flexible and willing to help out and be part of the team.
  • Self-motivated to complete projects

 

OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
