Hello my name is Shannon Root. I was hired as the new Alcohol and drug counselor and will assist in getting the sober living program up and running. I have been a drug and alcohol, mental health, and gambling counselor as well as a Prevention Coordinator for the last 4 years. I love working within the community that I grew up in.
I grew up in Harney County and graduated from Crane Union High school in 2011. I’ve lived in California, North Dakota, but Oregon will always be home! I moved back to Burns in 2020 to raise my kids. I have 3 kids, two boys and a girl. We enjoy camping, hiking, and all things outdoors. I am excited to begin this position and serve the Burns Paiute Tribe.
