Kyle Desautel comes to us from the Colville Tribe in Northcentral Washington State. He holds an Master’s of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s of Arts and Business with Majors in both general business management and marketing with a minor in anthropology. He has over 20 years of experience in Indian country running programs with as little as 1 employee and as much as 335 employees and budgets as small as $5,000 and as large as $33.5 million. His experience and passion is building both physical structures and capacity within Tribes. He’s been the Tribal lead on 3 health facilities, 2 convenient stores, 1 truck stop and many other purchases, remodels and construction projects. He’s developed Tribal programs including a 477 program, office of violence against women, domestic violence, TANF, grants writing, recycling and TERO to name a few.
When asked his greatest accomplishment, he’ll tell you being a father and father figure to 8 kids. He has a passion for basketball and has coached at the high school level for over 15 years with 8 trips to the State tournament. When asked why he wants to be here at the Burns Paiute Tribe, he says “I see a ton of potential. I bring a passion to increase capacity and help the tribe seek funding to meet its current and future needs. I’ve loved what I’ve seen from the community so far and can see myself and family spending the rest of my working days here.”
