Position: Community Garden worker

Hourly rate: $10.50hr
Classification: part time seasonal

This position is funded thru the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board as part of the WEAVE project. The intention of the funding is to bring more opportunities for health and wellness specifically thru healthy and traditional foods for our community. This grant runs from April 2018 to September 30, 2018. This is a part time seasonal position up to 15 hours a week.
Working with the community members and Tribal Programs to grow a community garden. Responsible for daily watering, weeding, planting and harvesting.
Responsible to engage the community thru newsletter and Facebook opportunities to help in the garden as well as sharing opportunities when harvesting will occur.
To be able to work with youth and the elders with gardening opportunities.
Responsible for tools and supplies
Responsible to track number of participants
Must have some experience with gardening
Must pass criminal background check and UA
Indian preference will be given to candidates showing proof of enrollment in a federally recognized tribe.
